Our Score
Inspired by Don Bradman's famous second-ball dismissal in his final Test match, this charming film was adapted by Terence Rattigan from his own TV play. Jack Warner gives a no-nonsense performance as the old pro, only to be totally outplayed by Robert Morley as the poet who'd give anything to be a cricketer (much to the bewilderment of Warner's pretentious son, Ray Jackson). Anthony Asquith directs with a straight bat, producing a picture that is as quintessentially English as Test Match Special. Cricketing legends Len Hutton, Denis Compton, Alec Bedser, Godfrey Evans, Jim Laker and Cyril Washbrook have cameos.

Summary

An ageing cricketer's last match is marred by his poor final innings, but the arrival of his pretentious, sport-hating son brightens the day. Terence Rattigan's comedy, starring Jack Warner, Robert Morley, George Relph and Brenda Bruce.
