Our Score
Don't bother trying to follow the confusing story in this sloppy sequel to 2003's Underworld. Suffice to say vampire warrior Kate Beckinsale and her hybrid werewolf lover Scott Speedman must unlock the secrets of their respective bloodlines, which prove to have murkier and more violent origins than suspected. Most of the actors from the original are relegated to flashbacks or brief death scenes, while new addition Derek Jacobi hams it up as the immortal cause of the monster feud. Returning director Len Wiseman disregards the plot and makes little attempt to engage the viewer - preferring to ramp up the fast-edited, colour-drained action and cartoon CGI special effects. The only genuine excitement comes in the battle finale, where a crashed helicopter's still-spinning blades become the ultimate weapon.

Vampire warrior Selene and her lover, a hybrid creature, must flee for their lives from the eldest of her kind. The ancient bloodsucker plans to find and release his imprisoned brother, the first ever werewolf, but Selene knows the creature will simply destroy everything in its path and must fight to destroy both of them. Action fantasy sequel, starring Kate Beckinsale, Scott Speedman and Derek Jacobi.
