Review

Our Score
Romantic comedy queen Meg Ryan resorts to cute again in this mediocre offering that attempts to freshen the usual formula by throwing a dippy time-travelling plot into the mix. It's a rather disastrous combination. Hugh Jackman plays Leopold, Duke of Albany, an Englishman abroad in 19th-century New York, who falls through a time portal to the present-day where he meets the overly quirky Ryan and woos her in the old-fashioned way. But what's a gal to do when her man has to go back to his life in the past to ensure that his descendants have a future? With this genre, the staple story of boy meets girl is often complicated but rarely is it so implausible.

Summary

A blip in the space-time continuum lands a 19th-century gentleman bachelor in modern-day New York, where he is introduced to a dedicated career woman. Unexpectedly, the mismatched pair fall in love, but heartache lies in store when they face separation. Romantic comedy, starring Hugh Jackman, Meg Ryan, Liev Schreiber, Breckin Meyer and Natasha Lyonne.
