Our Score
Sherlock Holmes sets out to track down three music boxes containing stolen Bank of England engraving plates in this mystery, which was Basil Rathbone's final outing as the great detective. Patricia Morison does well as the villainous Hilda Courtney, but her character doesn't have the evil presence of Moriarty. Luckily, Nigel Bruce is on form as Dr Watson and his bumbling joviality lightens up the dour atmosphere.

The Baker Street sleuth and faithful sidekick Dr Watson search for a set of stolen currency printing plates and soon link the theft to a spate of murders. Basil Rathbone's final appearance as the great detective, with Nigel Bruce, Patricia Cameron, Carl Harbord and Tom Dillon.
