Review

Our Score
Take one bluff, penny-wise Yorkshireman and a blowsy, blonde showgirl, exaggerate every regional characteristic and then whisk them together into a romantic froth. Season with a couple of quaint cameos and you have Value for Money. Forget the mediocre on-screen antics of John Gregson and Diana Dors (neither of whom are on form) and take a look instead at the backroom boys who helped assemble this featherweight comedy. Popular novelist RF Delderfield has a hand in the script, the cinematographer is the peerless Geoffrey Unsworth and the composer is Malcolm Arnold. It just goes to show that the finest ingredients don't always result in a tasty dish.

Summary
