Our Score
Packed with more than the usual number of smutty innuendos, this spoof on period adventures, ranging from George Arliss in Dr Syn to the bodice-rippers starring James Mason and Margaret Lockwood, does not live up to the team's previous best. It is chiefly memorable for being Sid James's 19th and last Carry On. He plays feared highwayman Dick Turpin, who masquerades as country vicar the Reverend Flasher. Also playing a double role, Barbara Windsor gives one of her best performances of the series as Turpin's sidekick, while Jack Douglas is good value as the bungling Bow Street runner who simply hasn't a clue.

Two officers of the law dedicated to catching a cheeky highwayman enlist the help of a vicar, unaware the pious pastor and his buxom housemaid are not as innocent as they seem to be. Comedy, starring Sid James, Kenneth Williams, Jack Douglas, Barbara Windsor, Bernard Bresslaw, Joan Sims and Hattie Jacques.
