Review

Our Score
Adapted from the novel by Pierre Boileau and Thomas Narcejac (the writers of The Woman Who Was No More, on which Les Diaboliques was based), this tale of blindness and rage should have been a real nail-biter. Sadly, ex-documentary director David Eady simply doesn't have the thriller instinct and throws away countless opportunities to make the tension unbearable. You feel far more concern for gutsy heroines such as Audrey Hepburn in Wait until Dark and Mia Farrow in Blind Terror than you do for mild-mannered John Gregson, the blind person under threat here.

Summary

A devious woman plots with her lover to send her recently blinded husband insane, hoping he will take his own life and leave them free to pursue their illicit affair in peace. Thriller, starring John Gregson, Mai Zetterling, Michael Denison and Nanette Newman.
