Our Score
Although crammed full of big names, this second Muppet movie is something of a disappointment. The parodies of the Busby Berkeley-esque production numbers are artfully staged and the byplay between Charles Grodin and Miss Piggy is charged with comic eroticism. But there are too many scenes that seem to be merely passing the time until the plot is ready to resume rolling. Kermit, Fozzie and Gonzo are particularly ill-served as the reporters investigating the theft of Diana Rigg's diamond, although they do have a classic moment with a fold-away bed. The song "The First Time It Happens" landed an Oscar nomination.

Reporters Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear are sacked for missing out on a massive scoop about the theft of jewellery from famous British fashion designer Lady Holiday. To try to re-establish their reputations, the duo and Gonzo fly to London to see if they can track down the culprit. Comedy, with the voices of Jim Henson and Frank Oz, with cameo appearances by John Cleese, Diana Rigg, Charles Grodin and Peter Ustinov.
