Hip horror directors Jen and Sylvia Soska show little of their usual visual and atmospheric flair in this weak and unnecessary sequel to Gregory Dark's generic 2006 slasher. WWE veteran Glenn "Kane" Jacobs returns as the eye-plucking serial killer Jacob Goodnight but has now largely forgotten his ocular obsession, as he terrorises birthday girl undertaker Danielle Harris and her friends who're secretly partying at the city morgue. Barely-there plotting and lame dialogue leave the stereotypical victims nothing to do except run and shriek their way to unimaginative and disappointingly restrained deaths, with reliable scream queen Harris particularly ill-served by the formulaic and unrealistic film's lack of meat and scares. Only Katharine Isabelle, star of the Soska's cult hit American Mary, gets to have any obvious fun, camping it up as a kinky (and, some may find, irritating) sexpot titillated by Goodnight's murderous reputation.
