Our Score
In director Steve Barker's bleached-out nightmare, mercenaries raid a barren east European outpost where an underground bunker contains a Nazi gadget devised to create an invincible army. The experiment was a gruesome failure, leaving behind an unstoppable zombie fighting force - and no one leaves their no man's land alive! Cue endless creeping through dark tunnels, the soldiers of misfortune continually disbelieving their own eyes, and much pumping of obviously non-effective bullets into sadistic spectres. The film has some style, well-staged gore and a few suspenseful moments. What it doesn't have is originality - The Keep, The Bunker and Deathwatch have all explored similar territory. However, Barker shows flair in the way he gives an eerie charge to quieter moments, such as the discovery of a chamber full of naked bodies.

A team of mercenaries is hired by a mysterious businessman to help him explore an abandoned bunker in a war-torn Eastern European nation. However, what they do not realise is that during the Second World War, this was the site of a fiendish Nazi experiment to create invincible zombie soldiers - and that the monsters that were created are still lurking within. Horror, starring Ray Stevenson and Julian Wadham.
