Having already made
Attack of the 50ft Woman
, former Oscar-winning art director Nathan "Jerry" Juran tried for the same heights, metaphorically speaking, with this charming and enjoyable fairy tale. Juran is reunited with Kerwin Mathews, his star in
The 7th Voyage of Sinbad
, and succeeds in creating a genuinely original romp for children, though some youngsters may be frightened by the scarier moments. Incidentally, on reissue the title lost its "Jack" and songs were bizarrely added to the soundtrack.
Summary
A brave farmer's son sets out to rescue a princess who has been carried off by a cruel demon in ancient Cornwall, and encounters a series of magical friends and foes along the way in his quest to free the distressed damsel. Fantasy adventure, starring Kerwin Matthews, Judi Meredith, Torin Thatcher and Don Beddoe.
