Three exploited workers agree to kill each other's bosses in this supposedly black comedy. In practice, Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day are just too drippy to credibly entertain such a plan, even after a boozy conference where they convince themselves they're serving the greater good. The funnier scenes happen early on when the three are subjected to various indignities in the workplace by bosses Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell and Jennifer Aniston. Farrell gets cheap laughs with a greasy comb-over and a sleazy attitude, while Spacey phones it in as a power-hungry bigwig. Conversely, Aniston tries too hard as a sex-crazed dentist. At least our would-be murderers enjoy an easy rapport, and this may at least provide some distraction as the pace slackens and plot continues to go nowhere.
Summary
A power-crazed bully, a sleazy cocaine addict and a sexual predator each make an employee's life a misery, but the three workers cannot afford to quit their jobs. They resort to desperate measures by conspiring to murder each other's bosses, with a little help from an eccentric ex-convict. Comedy, starring Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, Jason Sudeikis, Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Aniston and Colin Farrell.
