Our Score
A hybrid of Paradise for Two and any Hollywood backstager you care to mention, this lacklustre musical was shot in Britain with Hollywood journeyman Bruce Humberstone directing. Cesar Romero and Vera-Ellen were also imported to sugar the pill for American audiences, and they give polished performances as the down-at-heel producer and his protégée, although our very own David Niven is less at home as the moody millionaire conned into financing their Edinburgh festival show. TV stalwarts Gordon Jackson (Upstairs Downstairs) and John Laurie (Dad's Army) also appear.

Summary
