Keeping up with the Joneses becomes a criminal enterprise in this loose remake of the 1977 comedy that starred Jane Fonda and George Segal. Burned by an Enron-style corporate crash, jobless Jim Carrey and Téa Leoni suffer the indignity of having even their lawn repossessed. The impoverished pair turn Bonnie and Clyde, only to wind up victims of director Dean Parisot's badly aimed gags as the film lurches wildly from satire to slapstick. There are a few chuckles early on, but once Carrey and Leoni resort to pulling heists dressed up like Sonny and Cher (with Carrey doing Cher), it's clear the script has hit a wall. In a last ditch attempt to create intrigue, Parisot switches gears (yet again) for a final, "daring" robbery that actually involves watching ink dry. The more heinous offence is that Carrey and Leoni are wasted on this harebrained scheme.

A highly paid executive loses everything after his corrupt boss's false accounting ruins the firm and leaves him to take the blame. Flat-broke and with no income or savings to maintain his lavish lifestyle, he and his wife decide the only way to support themselves is to turn to crime. Remake of the 1976 comedy, with Jim Carrey, Tea Leoni, Alec Baldwin and Richard Jenkins.
