Our Score
Tim Story resumes directing duties for this second feature outing for the Fantastic Four. This time, the blue-suited superhero "family" must prevent the end of the world, as fabled airborne foe the Silver Surfer (voiced by Laurence Fishburne but given human shape by Doug Jones) wreaks havoc from his board. Welshman Ioan Gruffudd demonstrates an improved American accent as Mr Fantastic and Julian McMahon is back to provide some belated camp villainy as the team's nemesis, Dr Doom. There's an OK!-friendly wedding subplot, as Gruffudd marries Invisible Woman Jessica Alba, an impressive CGI set piece at the London Eye and more merry bickering. And for the Marvel trainspotters, the "Fantasticar" makes its screen debut. Trading in colourful spectacle and family-friendly fun, this is perfectly enjoyable popcorn fare that sidesteps the fashionable angst of other comic-book adaptations.

Summary

The super-powered team takes on a mysterious alien who has been sent by his planet-eating master to prepare Earth for obliteration. While the four heroes try to find a way to foil its plans, an old enemy returns, intent on seizing the extraterrestrial's power. Sci-fi adventure sequel, starring Ioan Gruffudd, Michael Chiklis, Chris Evans and Jessica Alba, with the voice of Laurence Fishburne.
