Our Score
Who would have thought that director McG could outdo himself in the vapid stakes with the sequel to 2000's vacuous Charlie's Angels? Well, give that man a prize, because despite a higher budget here, he's managed to make the original look like an Oscar winner. More financial flash simply equals more celluloid trash, and no amount of Matrix-style special effects, irritating cameos and tedious skits can disguise that fact. Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu are all very cute as they reprise their special agent roles - this time hunting two stolen rings encrypted with the true identities of incognito federal witnesses - but their endless costume changes and innuendo-riddled dialogue are no substitute for a plot. It's only "fallen" Angel Demi Moore and returning villain Crispin Glover who have any genuine screen presence. Unfortunately, their inadequately scripted roles are entirely ineffective in a picture that's obsessed with style over content.

Summary

The high-kicking trio return, this time to hunt down the villains responsible for stealing two encoded rings containing top-secret information. The case brings them into conflict with a former Angel gone bad, a spurned ex-lover out for revenge and their creepy old enemy the Thin Man. Action adventure sequel, starring Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu, with Demi Moore, John Cleese and Bernie Mac.
