You would think that after Blue Streak, Beverly Hills Cop, Lethal Weapon and countless others, the law enforcement section of the buddy movie genre had been exhausted. Then along comes this poorly executed vehicle for Martin Lawrence and Steve Zahn. Lawrence plays a wannabe cop who's booted out of the academy and becomes a security guard; Zahn is an ex-policeman who was sent down for six months after being falsely accused, by Lawrence, of a racist assault and is also forced to find work as a guard. Naturally they are thrown together and end up on the trail of the ruthless crooks who were responsible for the death of Zahn's partner. This is dumb, tasteless and short on laughs, while the film's dated vibe is summed-up by Eric Roberts's ineffectual turn as the chief bad guy.

Two men dismissed from the police become security guards, but are forced to go on the run when they uncover a sophisticated smuggling operation. With the criminal gang and the LAPD both chasing them, the unlikely partners seem more intent on fighting each other than covering their tracks. Action comedy, starring Martin Lawrence, Steve Zahn, Colm Feore and Eric Roberts.
