This is not up to the standard of the previous two
Sinbad
adventures - it's too long and Patrick Wayne is a distinctly charisma-free hero. But there's still plenty of pleasure to be had from the special effects of Ray Harryhausen, who enhances this romantic exotica with his distinctive brand of visual thrills. Highlights include a chess-playing baboon, three axe-wielding ghouls, a sabre-toothed tiger and a one-horned troglodyte. These all help to pass the time agreeably between the frothy
Arabian Nights
nonsense standing in for the plot.
Summary
The heroic sailor hurries to the aid of a prince who has been turned into a baboon by his wicked stepmother, jeopardising his status as heir to his father's throne. In search of a way to break the spell, Sinbad sails to a mystical island, but has to battle many monsters on his eventful journey. Fantasy adventure, with Patrick Wayne, Jane Seymour and Patrick Troughton, with effects by Ray Harryhausen.
