Our Score
Director Sam Wanamaker's fantasy may not be up to the standard of the previous two Sinbad adventures - it's too long and Patrick Wayne is a distinctly charisma-free hero - but there's still plenty of pleasure to be had from the special effects of Ray Harryhausen. His distinctive brand of visual thrills enhances the tale of a voyage to help a cursed prince, with highlights including a chess-playing baboon, three axe-wielding ghouls, a sabre-toothed tiger and a horned troglodyte. These all help to pass the time of this frothy Arabian Nights-style story.

The heroic sailor hurries to the aid of a prince who has been turned into a baboon by his wicked stepmother, jeopardising his status as heir to his father's throne. In search of a way to break the spell, Sinbad sails to a mystical island, but has to battle many monsters on his eventful journey. Fantasy adventure, with Patrick Wayne, Jane Seymour and Patrick Troughton, with effects by Ray Harryhausen.
