With this horror oddity, Victor Salva (Powder) cleverly revitalised the slasher scenario and fashioned the best nightmare avenue since Elm Street became a dead end. From its gripping Duel-like opening, Salva's superbly orchestrated chiller is as evocatively atmospheric as it is relentlessly bleak. A routine road trip home turns into a waking nightmare for brother-and-sister students Justin Long and Gina Philips when they disturb a supernatural figure and its body-part-snatching business. But which one does "The Creeper" want and what piece of flesh is the creature after? Instantly suspenseful from the start and bolstered by tremendously believable performances from the two leads, this unique flight of dark imagination is a terrific variation on the "psycho from hell" formula and a memorably gruesome horror fantasy from an unsung hero of the fright game.

A brother and sister are driving home from college when they witness a mysterious truck driver disposing of what appears to be a human corpse at an isolated building. They are soon hunted by the strange motorist, who is not what he appears to be. Horror, starring Gina Philips, Justin Long and Jonathan Breck.
