Our Score
Although it comes 30 years after the original, this belated sequel would have us believe it's really only 17 years since Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau shared an apartment. The 78-year-old Matthau has retired to Florida to play poker with rich widows, but the impending marriage of his son to Jack's daughter brings the bickering pair together again. Scripted by original author Neil Simon, it's rarely more than a contrivance and a pension enhancement for all concerned, but Lemmon and Matthau are still eminently watchable and it's hard to resist the film's rather lazy charm even when the road movie elements are lifted from Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

Summary

Bickering buddies Felix Unger and Oscar Madison spread chaos and general grumpiness during a long-distance journey to visit Oscar's son and Felix's daughter, who have announced they are planning to get married. The trip to the wedding soon turns into a disastrous odyssey involving dead bodies and vengeful cowboys. Comedy sequel, starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau.
