A bad idea gets worse with each repetition in this puerile rehash of Groundhog Day stuffed to the gunwales with clichés and caricatures lifted from any number of 1980s teen pics. At its centre is John Karna as Rob, a preppy type facing the college interview that will decide his future. However, an early morning wet dream sends him into an ejaculatory spiral that causes him to endlessly repeat the same day until he finally realises where his priorities lie. Unfortunately, Rob is slow on the uptake and wastes time making out with a flirty blonde (Carlson Young), settling scores with bullies and acting out whims without consequence before he twigs that there are worse things than watching a spelling bee on television with gal pal Katie Findlay. Director Dan Beers and co-writer Mathew Harawitz do little with their derivative premise and clearly equate crudity with hilarity, particularly during Karna's exchanges with his best mate (Craig Roberts). But, while Karna lacks charisma, Findlay is sweetly supportive and Alan Tudyk cameos amusingly as the lachrymose Georgetown University admissions officer.
