Our Score
The monster muscle-car franchise continues to relentlessly assault the senses in this globe-trotting sequel, with horror maestro James Wan's direction adding extra high-style brilliance to proceedings. After his brother (Luke Evans) was hospitalised by Vin Diesel's crew in the last episode, former black ops assassin Jason Statham wants revenge. But Diesel's all-star driving force can take him out first if they work with shady government agent Kurt Russell and recover God's Eye, a super-surveillance device that's also wanted by terrorist Djimon Hounsou. The perfunctory plot exists solely to showcase the absolutely absurd but astounding daredevil action, which is pushed to the spectacular limit. From the parachuting car free-fall drop and mountain roadside raid to the jump between the Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi and a super-drone battle in Los Angeles, the epic excitement is expertly rendered on the largest canvas for the highest speed thrill-ride. The film is dedicated to Paul Walker, who died during production, and the send-off he receives from his movie "family" is both moving and fitting.

After defeating Owen Shaw and his crew and securing amnesty for their past crimes, Dom, Brian and the rest of the team return home to live normal lives again. However Shaw's older brother Deckard - a rogue special forces assassin vows revenge on Dom, who he holds responsible for leaving Owen in a coma. Action thriller sequel, starring Vin Diesel, Jason Statham and Paul Walker in his last film role.
