The career of Tony Blair is scrutinised in this comprehensive documentary, which sets out to prove the former Prime Minister abused his time in office for personal gain, and continues to do so. There's no accusation here that will be unfamiliar to Blair critics. His links with big business, conduct over the Iraq War and his conflicting interests are all covered by a number of journalists, politicians, even his sister-in-law, Lauren. What's unique is that these connections are given a timeline, a flowing narrative that posits a well-researched argument. A shame, then, that co-producer and host George Galloway thrusts himself centre stage at moments that don't require his presence. He conducts interviews outside of Blair's house, while his angry narrative delights in name-calling. It makes the film feel like a deeply personal attack when the facts could have been left to speak for themselves. The case against Tony Blair is valid, it's just a shame it was made with so much vitriol.
