Review

Our Score
In his later years, character actor Lionel Jeffries had a secondary career as a sympathetic director of films made for and about young people, notably The Railway Children. This period ghost story by Antonia Barber is also perfectly suitable for adult viewing. There's much to enjoy, especially in the ripe performances of Laurence Naismith in the title role and the splendid Diana Dors as Mrs Wickens - gross, warty and every young child's nightmare. Character actors Dorothy Alison, James Villiers and Graham Crowden - so memorable in 1990s sitcom Waiting for God - turn in good work, too.

Summary

The youngsters discover the house is haunted by two children and try to lay the ghosts to rest, ultimately using magic to travel back to when they died. Children's fantasy, starring Laurence Naismith, Lynne Frederick and Diana Dors.
