Our Score
This must-see classic is directed by the master of 1950s science fiction, Jack Arnold, and derived from the thought-provoking novel by genre luminary Richard Matheson. Grant Williams slowly shrinks after passing through a radioactive cloud and, on the way down, sees his marriage disintegrate and is terrorised by the pet cat and a basement spider. A cogent comment on the plight of the "little man" in today's hi-tech world, Arnold's superlative thriller still retains its irony, shock and power. Williams gives a sensitive portrayal of a man hounded by the media and consigned to a freak's world, whose descent into being and nothingness provides a memorable climax.

A mysterious radioactive mist-cloud reverses boating holiday-maker Grant Williams' growth processes and causes him to dwindle away to nothing. Director Jack Arnold's celebrated fantasy adventure, also starring Randy Stuart, April Kent and Raymond Bailey.
