Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

A wonderfully wacky and surreal entry in Paramount's "Road" series. This was the penultimate of the seven made and the only one in colour. Alongside Bing Crosby, Bob Hope and Dorothy Lamour (whose camaraderie was by now honed to perfection), there are a variety of star cameos (don't blink!) and a number of enjoyable special effects, from materialisation by a snake charmer's flute to volcanic eruption, all done with a warmth generally missing from today's digital wizardry. Five songs enhance the narrative, including the lovely Moonflowers.
