Our Score
This unique documentary tells the story of six young football players - David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and the Neville brothers - who were brought through the Manchester United ranks at the same time, and charts the careers that have made them club legends. With the glorious 1998-99 Treble season as its backbone, an unbelievable journey is relived through old footage and narrated by famous football names; meanwhile the cultural boom of football and Britain in the 90s is explored by everyone from Danny Boyle to an uncomfortable-looking Tony Blair. We learn about their individual characters, upbringing and toughest challenges (the backlash to David Beckham after the 2002 World Cup receives particular attention), however, the film's most fascinating aspect is the friendship between the six men. Their natural chemistry on screen makes this sporting chronicle much more endearing, and only serves to underline their collective achievements. Sentimental but never too fawning, The Class of '92 will be a warm trip down memory lane for any United fan, and a compelling piece of football folklore.
