Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

Titanic director James Cameron shared scriptwriting duties with star Sylvester Stallone on this action sequel directed by George Pan Cosmatos. The results are entertaining if implausible, with Stallone flexing his muscles to rescue American prisoners in Vietnam only to discover he's considered as expendable as the men he's trying to save. The cartoon heroics would be laughable if they weren't played so seriously, which in itself makes the film a bit scary. It must have been a bit of a comedown for Cameron following the release of the previous year's massive sleeper hit The Terminator, which he directed.
