Our Score
In this crime comedy drama, devoted mother Demi Moore loses custody of her daughter to her lowlife, erstwhile husband Robert Patrick because she's unemployed. To earn money and get the child back, she finds work as a stripper in a Florida topless bar, becoming an object of lust for oily, corrupt politician Burt Reynolds, and finding herself involved in murder and blackmail. Andrew Bergman's direction makes it watchable, but his screenplay pulls its punches on the sleaze, and tear-jerking sentimentality and inadequate humour don't combine well with the drama. Moore does her best in a difficult role and Reynolds is entertainingly slimy - as he would be a year later in Boogie Nights. Moore's real-life daughter Rumer Willis plays her daughter.

A single mother takes a job as a stripper in a seedy club to make ends meet, only to get involved in blackmail and murder when a seemingly respectable politician takes a liking to her. Comedy thriller, starring Demi Moore, Burt Reynolds, Armand Assante and Ving Rhames.
