Dead Man on Campus

Dead Man's Curve told the wickedly black story of two students plotting to use a roommate's suicide to pass their exams. Dead Man on Campus is essentially a lighter version of the same story. Pitched at a young teen audience, this has Tom Everett Scott and Mark-Paul Gosselaar on the verge of being kicked out of school because of low grades. When they discover a clause in the school constitution saying they will get automatic A's if a roommate commits suicide, they set about finding a suitably depressed person to share with - a task that turns out to be more difficult than they imagined. It's amiably played, but Alan Cohn's direction lacks bite.
