Our Score
Josephine (pert, husky-voiced Glynis Johns) is one of those perverse women who is always drawn to the losers in life, her interest waning when their fortunes improve. Debonair Jack Buchanan plays her suave bachelor uncle who narrates her story in flashback. Josephine leaves her wealthy fiancé (Donald Sinden) for his friend (Peter Finch), an unsuccessful playwright - until their situations are reversed. Directed by Roy Boulting, this romantic comedy is pretty lightweight, old-hat stuff, and not as funny as it could have been, but the cast is likeable.
