In Helmand Province, Afghanistan, members of the British Parachute Regiment endure a living nightmare when they stumble into an unmarked minefield. A lethal initial blast also affects the medical and rescue team, who are keenly aware that one misplaced footstep will escalate the casualty figures. Driven by a diligent commitment to reality, the relatively unknown cast, first-time feature director Paul Katis and his expert prosthetic effects crew turn the unfolding events into a nerve-shredding experience. Indeed, the fact that it's mostly a story of man v minefield gives it a universal quality that allows us to set aside questions over Britain's Afghan mission, and concentrate instead on the loyalty, commitment and sacrifice of brave servicemen put in an impossible situation.
