This fantastic "found footage" film adds Norwegian folklore to a Blair Witch vibe to thrilling effect. The movie is set in the wilds of the north, and it chronicles, via reconstituted and "authenticated" videos, the experiences of a student film crew who set out on the trail of a bear poacher, but soon discover that his actual prey are things far bigger, more dangerous and more mythic. Trolls are, so we are told, not the stuff of fairy tales, but are real, sun-hating, Christian-hunting monsters. But the Norwegian people don't know it because of a comprehensive government cover-up. The trolls are terrific. They look like they've just stepped from the pages of The Three Billy Goats Gruff. Only bigger and scarier. And the film neatly balances genuine thrills and spills with moments of great humour.

Three film students making a documentary about bear attacks stumble on a well-armed poacher, who reveals the truth. He is a government-sanctioned monster slayer, whose duty is to kill the vast trolls roaming the wilderness. Tired of secrecy, he agrees to let the film crew document his work, putting all their lives in danger. Fantasy horror, starring Otto Jespersen and Glenn Erland Tosterud. In Norwegian.
