Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

Dubbed by a voice cast to die for, this CGI tale follows a group of animals from around the world who are stranded in Africa by a slew of ecological disasters. A polar bear from the Arctic, two giant tortoises from the Galapagos islands, an Australian kangaroo - you get the picture - join forces with a meerkat and a vegetarian lion to battle humans for water. The environmental messages and cod philosophy - humans bad, animals good - may be rather too muddy and simplistic for adults, but the slapstick, Looney Tunes-style fun may well keep small children amused. And the lively soundtrack certainly helps.
