Review

It's good apes versus guerrilla gorillas in the fifth, final and least effective entry in the sci-fi fantasy series. Roddy McDowall heads the cast, as our heroes attempt to restore racial harmony to Earth and make humans social equals. Spotting who's who under the hairy masks will while away the time as this threadbare monkey business wends its time-warp way back to the beginning of the original Planet of the Apes. Endless action can't disguise the cheapness of the production or the lack of novelty and story values in a rather desperate effort to milk the idea one time too many. Fans of the film series and TV show will want to catch it, though.
