In what has quickly become one of the most exciting literary unmaskings in recent times, it transpires that exciting new crime novelist Robert Galbraith is actually beloved Harry Potter author JK Rowling.
As countless authors and critics pat themselves on the back for picking up on the fact that it didn’t feel like it had been written by a new novelist, others admit they’d passed up on the offer of publishing it.
As a story that developed from a lone tweet suggesting the author was indeed Rowling, it seems fitting to see what other tweeters have to say…

So, I can now say that I turned down JK Rowling. I did read and say no to Cuckoo's Calling. Anyone else going to confess?

Rumours that JK Rowling is also the secret author of our Twitter feed are entirely unfounded.

'I was written by JK Rowling!' shouts one book. Then another. Soon they're all at it. 'I was written by her!' 'I was too!'

Despite the blister on my foot, I will be hobbling to Waterstones at lunchtime to by The Cuckoo's Calling. Obviously.

Idea for publishers: 1: Reveal that ALL books were written by JK Rowling. 2: Sales of all books soar by 150,000%. 3: Industry saved.

I think now it is only right to reveal that How to Eat Out is actually by JK Rowling: http://t.co/zG3WYwF7hx

It is with great sadness and regret I inform you the "JK Rowling wrote my book too!" joke passed away at 10.37 this morning.

Ah. Now I know how JK Rowling was spending her time while I was writing the last three Harry Potter books.

Heard seconds ago in the airplane boarding line: man 1, reading phone: "JK Rowling has recorded 2 dubstep albums." his friend: "Seriously?"
— Patrick Ness (@Patrick_Ness) July 15, 2013
Personally, I've never forgiven JK Rowling for those Jamiroquai albums.
