The Spice Girls are BACK! (Well, sort of…)
To mark 20 years since the release of their smash hit Wannabe, three of the Spices – Geri Horner, Emma Bunton and Mel B – have reunited to form GEM. Geddit? G-E-M.
Mel C and Victoria Beckham respectfully declined to take part in the get-together – make of that what you will – leaving Ginger, Baby and Scary to pen their new song which they say will not get a proper release. “We went and had a laugh in the studio. It’s not a single, it’s just we were creating,” Bunton told The Sun.
The new offering – Song For Her – emerged onto the internet yesterday and certainly carries forward the band’s Girl Power brand with lyrics like “This is a song for her, you know you light it up, because you know who you are, stand up, stand up.” But is it any good?
Well, fans aren’t exactly jumping up and down in spontaneous applause.
Listening to #SongForHer by #GEM (#SpiceGirls) with sadness and mixed feelings… ❤️???? ????

But some people thought it sounded rather like a Eurovision entry…
Am I the only one who thinks #GEM #SongForHer
sounds like a 2006 #Eurovision entry?
