Michael Bublé will take over from Ant and Dec as the new host of the Brit Awards in 2017.

The Haven’t Met You Yet singer said the ceremony at the O2 Arena on 22nd February was his “perfect gig”.

Bublé himself has been nominated for a Brit three times, but has yet to pick up a statuette of his own.

“It’s a huge honour for me to host such a big night in music,” the Canadian-born crooner said.

“Even though I didn’t grow up as a Brit I’ve always been well aware of the Brit Awards and their impact globally. As a fan of music, this is the perfect gig.”

Comedy duo Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have successfully presented the music awards for the last couple of years. Previous hosts have included Kylie Minogue and James Corden.

Awards show organisers said the signing was “a huge coup”.

Brits Chairman Jason Iley said: “He is an extremely talented and charismatic world-class entertainer much loved by the British public.”

Nominations for the 37th Brit Awards will be announced on Saturday 14th January live on ITV
