As part of its Dance Baroque for Comic Relief on Red Nose Day, BBC Radio 3 will present the world premiere of an arrangement of Justin Bieber's Beauty and a Beat for countertenor, chamber choir and baroque orchestra.

Taken from Bieber's third album Believe, Beauty and the Beat is an R&B-heavy collaboration with flamboyant rapper Nicki Minaj, which peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100. Many see it as a sign that Bieber is trying to move away from his teen-orientated sound.

The new version is by Steve Pycroft, arranger and musical director for the Kaleidoscope Orchestra, who found YouTube fame with the video of Pycroft's Skrillex Suite. It will be performed by countertenor Robin Blaze and the University of York Baroque Orchestra and Chamber Choir, conducted by Peter Seymour.

The audience at Dance Baroque for Comic Relief will join a host of broadcasting personalities, including ex-footballer and 5 live pundit Pat Nevin, former Emmerdale heartthrob Kurtis Stacey, dinnerladies star Sue Devaney and Radio 4 newsreader Zeb Soanes, to learn the steps to music by 17th-century composer Henry Purcell.
