There are so many twists in this episode it’s as if the writers threw a heap of “ripped from the headlines” stories into a hat, picked four at random and tried to join them up.
It starts with the grisly castration and immolation of a homeless man (prompting many tasteless barbecue puns). Then it pings backwards and forwards as if it were a hyperactive pinball machine – through urban vigilantes, underage pregnancy, cyber-bullying, bad parenting and a courtroom assault on ADA Greylek.
Don’t miss the scene where Fin interviews a self-styled urban DJ, though – the incredulous look on Ice-T’s face is priceless.
Stabler and Munch investigate when a homeless teenager is found burned to death outside a restaurant. The victim's father tells them there could be a link with some violent videos uploaded to the internet, so the team sets up a sting operation which eventually leads them to the same school the dead man had attended - and two groups of girls who are very single-minded.
