Jimmy Doherty investigates the science behind some of the nation's favourite festive foodstuffs. The farmer begins by finding out how Brazil nuts are coated so evenly in chocolate and investigating how supermarkets smoke bacon without using fire. The turkey is the centrepiece of most families' Christmas meals - 10 million are eaten each year - so Jimmy discovers how so many are readied for the big day. Finally, an examination of the filling used for mince pies, which can be made months in advance.
