Mandy Sellars from Accrington in Lancashire has an extremely rare condition that has led to the abnormal growth of her legs. In 2010, she had blood poisoning in her left leg and had to have the limb amputated, the side-effects of which resulted in her stump and right leg becoming three stone heavier. This documentary follows endocrinologist Dr Robert Semple and his team at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge as they develop medication to prevent Mandy's rogue gene from causing her limbs to overgrow.
