Alex Polizzi: The Fixer

Peachy Pics

Series 2 - Episode 2 Peachy Pics

If you’re thinking about starting a new business, here’s Alex Polizzi’s golden rule: your rent and wages bill should never be more than 35 per cent of your sales. Andrea Lane who, after surviving cancer two years ago, set up a photographic studio in Aylesbury (employing her three unskilled and often sulky daughters as staff) didn’t know this rule. Her rent and wages bill comes to 75 per cent of her sales so her business is haemorrhaging cash even though she hasn’t paid herself a penny. One of the other problems is that Andrea doesn’t like bossing her daughters about, tending to smooth over problems like, well, a mum.

Alex is frustrated from the start. “They’re all so passive, sitting there like puddings!” she mutters angrily after yet another attempt to motivate them to do something ... ANYTHING.

A mother and her three daughters are struggling to find customers for their portrait studio and pay the rent. Entrepreneur Alex Polizzi tries to turn their fortunes around by giving them the chance to work with a celebrity photographer and attempts to expand their client base by introducing them to commercial photography. However, the girls' failure to put any effort in leaves Alex frustrated and doubting that their mother is up to being their boss.
