Review

Intimate, raw and often emotional, each edition of this observational series features the staff and the patients they treat in the course of one 24-hour period at the A&E department of King’s College Hospital in south London.
As well as telling the stories of patients, it gives a poignant and powerful insight into the inner workings of the frontline NHS, with the doctors and nurses sharing their honest feelings about the people they treat and the often harsh lessons they’ve had to learn.

Summary

Filmed over 28 days, this documentary provides access to one of Britain's busiest A&E departments, at King's College Hospital in London. The series begins with the stories of a 33-year-old Greek student in a critical condition after being run over by a bus, 78-year-old Tom Gibbs, who fell from a ladder while painting his daughter's landing, and a cyclist with a severe head injury.
