The chef embarks on a culinary journey by sea and land to explore the Far East's most diverse food cultures. He begins in Cambodia, where tourists are beginning to return after the fall of the Khmer Rouge regime. As well as discovering the joys of freshly caught swimmer crabs with green peppercorns, he learns how to cook the country's most famous dish - fish amok - and samples lok lak, made with marinated beef. He also visits the Angkor Wat temple and joins a rice barge to travel down the Mekong River.
