Review

“There are some politicians who take very naturally to leadership. And there are others who need time to find their range,” MP Ros Yelland haughtily tells the press following the election victory of a somewhat stunned Tom Dawkins. The second episode of this political thriller is also trying to find its range because it’s certainly lost the intense pace of the opening episode and instead sets about layering up the strands of political intrigue.

As soon as the tiniest chink of light is shed on what happened at Scarrow or what Petrofex have been up to, the dramatic shutters instantly come down and we’re left grasping for clues in the dark again.

What is clear is that toxic levels at the Teesside petrochemical factory were dangerously high, the former PM knew what was going on and the current one was involved in something dodgy in Bosnia.

Summary

Following his shock election victory, Tom Dawkins launches an inquiry into the toxicology anomalies at the blast in Scarrow. As British intelligence locates the whereabouts of al-Qaeda chief Tamin al-Ghamdi, the reluctant prime minister is pressurised to take him down. Meanwhile, after her superiors at GCHQ fail to take her findings seriously, Agnes reaches out to the one man she thinks could help. Political drama, starring Gabriel Byrne.
