Terry Wogan, Tess Daly and Fearne Cotton return to present another bumper evening of fund-raising fun, which sees a massive line-up of stars singing, dancing or acting plain daft in support of disadvantaged children across the UK. The fun kicks off with the biggest boy band of the moment (and no, that doesn't mean Union J) as One Direction get the party started. There is also a special Doctor Who episode made specially for Children in Need. 8pm Ann Widdecombe and Russell Grant - arguably the worst performers Strictly has ever seen - return to the ballroom for an unforgettable dance-off in a special edition of SCD. 8.30pm Pudsey Bear gets to dance with his new namesake - Pudsey the dog, the winner of Britain's Got Talent 2012. TV presenter and former chorister Aled Jones leads 2,500 children across the UK in a live performance of Bridge Over Troubled Water, and there is a second treat for fans of Doctor Who with a sneak preview of the Christmas special. 9pm They are back! Girls Aloud have reunited on the occasion of their 10th anniversary, and now they perform the official Children in Need single, Something New. 9.30pm They are medal-winners in sport - now a host of Olympic and Paralympic stars, including Tom Daley, Rebecca Adlington, Zara Phillips and Ellie Simmonds, aim to prove they are top of the pops in their own fun-filled music video. Throughout the evening, Jackie Bird presents updates on Children in Need Scotland live from Aberdeen's Beach Ballroom. She will reveal where some of the money goes across the country and also celebrates a fund-raising hero - a teacher who is hoping to this year reach a total of £100,000 raised for the charity over the past two decades.
