Britain's Hidden Hungry

Britain's Hidden Hungry

Film-maker David Modell spends six months at the Coventry foodbank, one of 300 such charities around the country, to hear from people who simply cannot afford to eat. Their stories are surprising - care-leaver Charlotte has just one meal a day, middle manager Kelly has not eaten for two days, while middle-class mother-of-five Sandra is embarrassed that all she can give her son for his packed lunch is bread and butter. These and other stories demonstrate how so many Britons are suffering genuine and prolonged bouts of hunger.
