When musician Nile Rodgers was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer he vowed not to let it get in the way of his work and he did not miss a single performance or public appearance through the course of his treatment.
But it did shake him to his very core and, to help with his recuperation, he started to walk the streets of New York.
This is a poignant, personal and ultimately uplifting trip through the city that formed his political views — he was a Black Panther — and allowed his musical talents to flourish.
Musician and producer Nile Rodger's daily walks on the streets of New York help him recuperate from cancer and evoke vivid memories from his past, as he visits the studio of Jimi Hendrix, the site of the Studio 54 discotheque and the Apollo Theatre along the way.
