It’s can’t be long before either Phil, Ben or Jay spills the beans about Heather’s murder and with a guilt-ridden Jay burbling manically after swigging a tongue-loosening cocktail of antihistamine and alcohol, it’s a reasonable bet it’ll be him. But it could be Phil, since he renewed his relationship with Mr Vodka Bottle. Except he tends to be an incoherent drunk, so nobody would understand a word he’s saying.
So that leaves Ben, whose poker face rarely reveals what he’s thinking (or even if he’s thinking). What is clear is that he’s terrified his dad is going to turn him over to the cops. But is that enough to make him ’fess up?
Ben is disturbed by the extent of Phil's drinking, and fears he might reveal the truth about Heather's death when he spots him arguing with Shirley. Unable to cope with the pressure, he rushes to see Ian - and confesses he was the killer. Meanwhile, Jay reacts badly to Cora's home-made medicine and has a worrying conversation with Abi, while Derek tries to impress Alice by throwing a party.
